First contact with the natives of Atlantis XXIV

Our Lord Valeria, today 20th day of the 9th month of the Imperial Calendar year 40663 we have landed on the surface of Atlantis XXIV. The unit had just unloaded the cargo that our bio-scanner detected the presence of some sort of life form approaching from several directions. After visual contact it was determined that some sorts of natives were close upon us with hostile intentions. I ordered the men under my command in a defensive perimeter with suppression fire. The natives came under obvious belligerent intentions as they were armed with some primitive weapons. Hundreds of them appeared from the woods and attacked our position. Laser, heavy bolter and a lot of grenades killed a lot of them but every time more and more appeared. The natives eventually arrived at close combat distance but our frag armor protected from their blows. However, I can assure from my personal experience that they are hard fighters and we did not have casualties due to their improvised weapons. They seemed to have some kind of military organization as they attacked in groups of 9 specimens and furthermore, they showed some kind of psychic powers manifested only when they were grouped. The results of the action are 2 troopers contused and hundreds of natives killed of whom I’ll send a sample with the next transport with the “Faithfull Exploratio”. I’m waiting for the transports to begin with the exploration of the planet. Glory to Valeria! The Emperor Protects. href="http://www.blogger.com/null">

Rogue Trader Imperial Army entourage.

Valeria Borodina has som Imperial Army troopers. They are survivors of the Kynblax Genocide and were organized and uniformed in the colours of Valeria: grey, black and red. They are led by Lt. Chapsky and are completely loyal to Valeria first, the loot and finally to the Imperium.

Atlantis XXIV (the beginning).

After several millennia of warp storm blocking the route to the Transultima Segmentum, with no apparent reason, the storm is stopping. In Galaspar, the capital world of this sometimes forgotten part of the Imperium, the Administratum is really busy. A “new world” has appeared. The world is believed to be Atlantis XXIV which was first reported 6000 years ago and then lost forever.
Now with a clear corridor through the storm, this world can be recovered for the Imperium. A lot of adventurers are heading to Galaspar as a bridgehead to Atlantis XXIV but Imperial laws are clear. The rights to exploration are for those who can claim a Rogue Trader Patent. Valeria Borodina is the heir of a Rogue Trader of Astronomican fame. Being the only Rogue Trader present, the Administratum granted her the rights of exploration and thus, with her crew and the “Faithfull Exploratio” she headed towards Atlantis XXIV.
On board scanners showed a lot of life forms on the surface but no metal structures or modern technology. The world was catalogued as feral world in virgin state. To prepare the path to an on land exploration, a squad of ex-imperial guards under the command of Lt. Chapsky was sent to the surface to begin the construction of a provisional encampment.

In'Carnnall

After some ebay search and some money spent. I finded a suitable miniature for In'Carnnall, my Slaanesh champion for my sloooooooooooowlly advancing RoC campaign. The miniature, according to Stuff of Legends is from 1991 and appeared in the blue catalog 2. designed by Aly Morrison.

Creating a Slaanesh champion. In'Carnnall

I want to start a RoC campaign but since the main part of my fantasy minis are either Mithril Miniatures (remember those minis?) or Citadel Undead, I’ll need to start from scratch.
I’m sure that the following days I’ll start searching for “cool minis of the old days” on ebay and that I’m risking to spend a small fortune but you know, It’s a long time project and starting a warband is not so expensive as I’m planning only the champion and one roll on the retinue table. I’m planning a warband for each one of the chaos but I’ll start with the Master of Pleasure.
So, armed with my dice I started the career of a Champion of Slaanesh.
First throw, for the race (D100) à 28 Dark Elf.
Perfect! In my imagination, those are the true followers of Slaanesh. Not bloodthirsty barbarians, nor desperate people looking for survival but a culture improving its torture and killing methods just for fun. Matriarchal societies were men are either soldiers or slaves, al type of slaves including those that most prefer Slaanesh himself.
Then, throw for the characteristics (D100) à 18 Basic Dark Elf.
Well… it could be worse. I’m sure a basic human is worse than a basic elf.
My Champion is entitled to receive a Gift from his God, a Personal attribute and a Retinue.
So he gets the Gift of Slaanesh à WP (+1)
Personal attribute (D1000) à 283, Cowardice.
I think this D1000 table is one of the great things about RoC.  D1000 table is something… chaotic? In my champion’s case, being a coward means:
-          Cl (x1/2)
-          Successful Cl test to charge
-          Subject to fear of any attackers who outnumbers his unit or side
-          May not accept a challenge
He is the typical liar that prefers backstabbing than face to face fight. It goes according to its low fighting profile. I’m sure he was a politician, not a soldier.
Retinue (D6) à 4
1 group of followers (D100) à Beastmen (2D6) à 7 warriors
Not bad as Beastmen is a “must have” for a true chaos follower.

His story so far
In’Carnnall was a member of a noble family in a Dark Elf colony settled in the north coast. Being not the heir of the family, he passed most of his time spending lots of gold in pleasures and intriguing in the government.  He had no military experience and never participated in punitive expeditions or slave hunting. He truly enjoyed staying at his clan dungeons overviewing the torture of slaves or even better, torturing other clan dark elves. Bad times came when the Matriarch of his clan lost influence in the Witch Council. He was accused of cowardice (in fact it was true) and so his family gave him as a slave to clean the family’s reputation.
Being handsome and of noble origin he was not destined to the mines or converted to food for cold ones but went into a matriarch harem.
Several months later, he had become the matriarch’s favorite and was allowed to live with her. After a night with his mistress, In’Carnnall heard the whisper of Slaanesh and as a revelation he decided to kill his mistress in the name of the god of pleasure. After her, it was the turn of his fellow slaves for he felt a lot of pleasure in killing them all in a blood orgy.
He escaped from his city to the chaos deserts. As another gift from his god a group of beastmen found him and reckoned his mark as a champion of Slaanesh.
The saga of In’Carnall and his warband, The Entropic Lust have begun.

The beginning

Dear Gentlemen,

Welcome to my blog. After much time spent reding the superb work of other people. I've decided to start my old schhol fantasy and sci fi blog. I was born in 1980 and I started all this hobby with HeroQuest but my proper wargame was Warhammer 40K. You know, in Spain maybe things arrived later or I was too young to start with RT or whatever. Time later I had Necromunda and I think that is the game my brethren an I we've most enjoyed (and still enjoy). Now, I'm more into historical wargaming but you know, piles of miniatures waiting for a proper paintjob and the search for something new have moved me to start with this.

I would say thanks to all the people which is enjoying this oldhammer fever. They are my true source of inspiration. Their work can be seen in the blogroll to your right.

If you are into oldhammer/RT and you are not in the blogroll, or more important, if you happen to live in Barcelona or surroundings please introduce yourself and join the movement
